  • Responsibilities

    Team Management (40%) 

    • Selects, evaluates, motivates and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet company objectives, while complying with local employment guidelines, 
    • Sets personal objectives, provides fair and constructive feedback, assesses accurately employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization, and ensures training & development needs are addressed, 
    • Develops a positive team dynamics to ensure high performance, 
    • Leads the continuous improvement process in the team;

    MBoM/Routings(20%) 

    • Working with Manufacturing Engineers, establish the best practices for building Manufacturing Bill of Materials as well as routings,
    • Ensure routes are up to date while ensuring parts can be manufactured safely to specifications within the required cost and time constraints,
    • Participate in design reviews with the Engineering department to ensure alignment with current manufacturing capabilities,
    • Using data, develop standards to improve accurate estimates of required times for machining and welding processes,
    • Execute the above listed requirements within the company Enterprise Resource Planning & Product Lifecycle Management systems.

    CNC Programming (20%) 

    • Guide the team of CNC programmers in their daily tasks,
    • Establish best practices for GCODE to be consumed at the shop floor,
    • Ensure programs are optimized for safety, reliability, and cost,
    • Oversee and improve feedback loops and processes,
    • Work with Tooling Application Engineer to select cutting tools, standardize and lower manufacturing costs.

     Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement (10 %) 

    • Brainstorms to find “out of the box” solutions that fix the people issues, or significantly improve the process performance in terms of lead time, cost and value in the eye of the customer

    Process Expertise (10 %) 

    • Direct and lead both salaried and hourly workers to improve the operations focusing on efficiency, throughput, improved quality and market expectations.
      • This includes but is not limited to:  Project administration, Change management, Ultimate ownership of process flow,
    • Designs and proposes process metrics that allow efficient process management,
    • Builds implementation plan by breaking down all necessary activities prior to go live with the new processes,
    • Provides LEAN trainings to all level within the organization 
    • Creates, tests and implements CNC programs (welding robots and CNC machines) 
    • Provides internal training and regular support to operators 
    • Supports manufacturing supervision regarding cycle times required for the operations 
    • Participates in new machines definition and purchase

    Qualifications

    • Engineering degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or electrical discipline
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing environment
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar
    • Experienced in the following tools:  FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, SMED, TPM, 5S, Kanban and Lean
    • Good communication skills
