  • Overview

    Trainee is entry level with training and a career path in place to progress to Master Technician.  Would like candidates to be available to start immediately after Christmas at the latest.  Minimum starting salary of £23,000, will take mechanical experience into consideration.

     

     

    Main Purpose

    Disassemble and clean ILI tools and components while lending support to tool building and equipment preparation efforts. Ensure Service Center is being properly maintained meeting and/or exceeding all TDW HSE policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    Tool disassembly and cleaning (60%)

    • Maintains a clean, orderly work area, ensuring TDW safety standards are met,
    • Disassembles and cleans ILI tools in preparation for next tool run, applying appropriate cleaning procedures based on type of tool being cleaned,
    • Performs mechanical routine and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment to ensure desired field performance,  Assists procuring components from inventory and inspecting all required components / parts required for the operation of the tool following all established quality control procedures,
    • Assists performing all shipping and receiving functions, including job setup, loading equipment for shipment;

     

    Tool preparation (30%)

    • Prepares, assembles, integrates and tests mechanical parts based on mechanical drawings,
    • Modifies cups, disks and studs using the appropriate hand and power tools to meet established specifications,
    • Assists in the collection and maintenance of ‘as-built’ records,
    • Fabricates or modifies parts as needed utilizing available tools and materials,
    • Provides support to the field service by configuring ILI tools for customer specific requirements,
    • Loads the tools, launch trays, hand tools, portable tool supporting and lifting equipment, etc., into vehicles in preparation for ILI project, using appropriate lifting devices,
    • Unloads tools and support equipment when returned, and moves to appropriate storage location;

     

    Professional self-development (10%)

    • Develops and applies the ability to implement approved safety procedures to ensure the personal safety of all parties,
    • Develops ability to respond to demands of clients, field technicians, and equipment coordinators and addresses problem-solving aspects of all TDW ILI Shop Technician tasks.

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, skills & abilities required

    High school diploma or equivalent required, and mechanical or electronics training preferred,

    Ability to disassemble and build mechanical components utilizing instruction and mechanical drawings,

    Ability to convert between decimals and fractions,

    Familiarity with the safe application of small power and hand tools such as drills, hand and table saws, grinders, etc.,

    Understands the use of proper lifting equipment, such as cranes and forklifts to move tools within shop area,

    IT Literate, basic level Microsoft Word and Excel skill.

    Fluent in English.  French would be desirable.
