  • Overview

    Provide managerial and technical guidance to Software and Data Science teams that develop solutions for data collection, manipulation, and reporting including development of simple to complex algorithmic mathematics, end-user interfaces, scanners, and communications schema for global use.

    Responsibilities

    •Management of Software Projects (60%) •Collaboration with the Business (30%) •Team Management (10%) •Prioritize and drive on-time completion of SW projects •Responsible for tracking, recording, and reporting project status, feature requests, bug reports, etc., and ensuring on-time delivery •Collaborate with division and global Engineering, Operations, Sales and Product Management organizations to ensure alignment of activities as related to corporate goals •Analyzes historical data to improve time and complexity estimates for scheduling and costs •Responsible for proper benchmark and targeted regression testing of all software products •Ensure personal and subordinate alignment and accountability through communication and collaboration with other departments to enhance/find customer value •Manage software and data science activities and provide strategic direction •Prioritize feature requests and bug fixes to meet division and corporate goals and objectives •Direct planning and execution of software releases on a global basis •Coordinate data science and software activities with Product and Project Management, and other impacted organizations to implement and productize R&D development efforts •Regularly communicate status to impacted org’s and company leadership the status of projects, feature requests, bug fixes, etc. •Selects, manages, evaluates, motivates, and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet Company objectives while complying with EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines or foreign employment guidelines as applicable •Conducts performance reviews in accordance with the Performance Management Program, providing fair and accurate assessments of employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement, and possibility of future growth within the organization and TDW •Create, implement, and manage employee personal improvement plans, employee development plans, and career development activities

    Qualifications

    •Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related technical degree •Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, preferably within an Agile environment •10 plus years’ experience managing technical professionals including software development •Experience planning projects, tracking and communicating progress, and managing risk •Demonstrable proficiency meeting deadlines, holding teams accountable, managing conflict resolution, collaborating, and growing personnel •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Responsible for managing department operational expenses
