  • Overview

    Directs the information systems activities, including systems strategy, design, programming and procedures, and operation of computer and related IT equipment for TDW’s world-wide operation. Provides management with strategic direction and leadership in IT applications development and computer operations of the organization with the goal of digitizing business processes.  Provides advice and counsel to management concerning the application of computing techniques to overall organizational requirements and leads the execution / implementation of such IT strategy.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides guidance, counsel and execution leadership to the business in the strategic development and implementation of digital business models that result in improved design of information systems.  
    • Leads the continuing review of present systems and methods, determines appropriate changes, and leads implementation of innovative, digital solutions that create efficiencies, reduce cost and enhance customer experience.
    • Leads the preparation and installation of information systems and procedures, including the design of source documents, technical direction of operations and assistance in the format of management reports.
    • Works closely with management at all locations to determine business needs regarding information retrieval, data control and expanded use of computers and related equipment in world-wide organization operations and processes and leads the implementation of said IT improvements. Manages liaison with other departments in the organization.
    • Recommends the location, type, size and equipment for installation(s) including applicable software within the limits of organization policy.
    • Provides direction and liaises with external auditors in the planning and execution of the annual external audit.
    • Maintains professional contacts with other organizations, research institutions and equipment manufacturers concerning IT applications and equipment. Keeps abreast of technological changes and innovations in the information systems field.
    • Prepares annual operating budget for the department, submits for approval and operates within approved budget guidelines. Owns and drives accountability for IT function budget.
    • Actively supports the Corporate QHSE strategy by holding QHSE meetings in accordance with Corporate QHSE Plan. Develops safe work environment and promotes the use of personal protective equipment and safe work habits for employees. Participates in emergency drills, training, inspections, and incident investigations. Reports incidents and initiates corrective action when necessary. Ensures housekeeping standards are adequate to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Selects, evaluates, motivates and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet company objectives while complying with EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines. Conducts performance reviews according to schedule, providing fair and accurate assessment of employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization.

    Qualifications

    • Reports to Vice President of Global Operations and requires communications with all levels of the organization including senior leadership team and business leaders
    • Experience leading in a global environment required
    • Bachelor’s in Business, or related degree
    • MBA preferred
    • At least 10 years of experience managing one or more major information processing functions (integrations, implementations, etc)
    • Experience with digital application implementation and execution would be a distinct advantage
    • Knowledge or exposure to machine learning, AI or predictive analytics.
    • Experience with ERP implementation and execution
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred, but not mandatory
    • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
    • Able to handle conflict and confrontation well
    • Must be willing to travel up to 30%
