  • Overview

    Organize and lead all activities in Procurement department ensuring a highly efficient supply chain while establishing, maintaining and improving supplier relationships and develop procedures to meet and exceed costumer requirements.


    Purchase of materials for the Manufacturing department (60%)

    • Functions as the primary negotiator in relations with qualified suppliers in establishing contract, stocking agreements, consignment programs and product delivery plans, 
    • Prepares orders, ensures approvals according to authorization matrix and issues them to suppliers; 
    • Manages required purchases based on requisitions through soliciting competitive bids and awards negotiated to the most economic price, considering both the delivery and quality standards desired, 
    • Negotiates and establishes frame contracts by making sure by making sure they are reviewed with Legal department, Defines the priorities as scheduled demand dictates, ensuring that required materials are delivered at the right time and at the right place, 
    • Keeps a current knowledge of new products of interest for TDW and supports Engineering departments to define necessary products and materials, 
    • Solves price and quantity variances and complex purchasing issues with suppliers;


    Suppliers Quality & Improvement (20%) 

    • Liaises with Supplier Development for improvement/development of existing suppliers in order to establish new sources to maintain cost, quality and sufficient quantities at all times.
    • Keeps himself/herself aware about current market prices, designated delivery dates and quality specifications indicated by the Engineering Department. 
    • Participates actively in quality assurance work, 
    • Maintains and creates relevant procedures for the procurement department, Investigates market for alternative cost reduction methods,
    • Investigates market for alternative cost reduction methods,
    • Follows up complaints of suppliers with Quality Control and Supplier Quality Engineering and ensure follow up on Materials Review Board (MRB) actions. 
    • Optimizes the procurement process by analyzing suppliers price, quality, accurate deliveries and service measured against company compliance and excellence standards;


    Reporting (10%) 

    • Prepares monthly KPI data and Reports, and makes use of them to improve the effectiveness of the department,
    • Provides adequate reports to management and makes recommendations to facilitate sound and effective decisions;


    Team management (10%) 

    • Selects, evaluates, motivates and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet company objectives, while complying with local employment guidelines, 
    • Sets personal objectives, provides fair and constructive feedback, assesses accurately employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization, and ensures training & development needs are addressed, 
    • Develops a positive team dynamics to ensure high performance, 
    • Leads the continuous improvement process in his/her team;


    • Engineering degree
    • CPM (Certified in Production Management) and CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification programs will be a plus, 
    • Minimum 3 years experience in procurement in an international environment in the mechanical industry, Ability to read technical and engineering drawings, 
    • Good analytical skills, 
    • Strong leadership skills, 
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, 
    • IT literate, sound knowledge of an ERP system, 
    • Fluent in dual language is an asset.
