  • Overview

    The Global Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader will spearhead global initiatives focused on operational excellence along the entire value chain. The leader will spearhead improvement activities within product, process and services across business lines using lean/CI tools and is a recognized expert in a specialized field. This position will develop and foster a culture of CI that will have positive and long-term business implications and product reliability and contribute to overall TDW and functional strategy.


    This position can be located either in Tulsa or Houston.


    Continuous Improvement and Long-Term Sustainability (35%)

    • Provide consulting, lead, facilitate Root Cause Analysis of product and services operational failures. Engage impacted functions and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
    • Conduct project review, RCA, CoF, CAPA meetings through a rigorous cadence and operation rhythm.

    Developing CI Framework (15%)

    • Collaborate with functional leader and build KPI’s and BI dashboards to drive manufacturing, services and productivity (CoF) improvements and establish clear communication mechanism for track and report.
    • Develop and implement an operations/business continuous improvement roadmap that includes prioritization of high impact/high payoff and ease of implementation projects, business buy in and deployment.

    Risk Management (30%)

    • Engages finance and cross functional impacted teams and drive reduction of Cost of Failure (CoF). Drives data analysis and implements cost controls and tracking mechanisms and risk mitigation to meet targets and forecast using standardized process.
    • Identify gaps and highlight opportunities and best practices for integration of the system and tools with and process improvements, within and across business lines.
    • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, develops a timely roadmap for implementation and monitors activities to ensure flawless execution.
    • Manage and direct major warranty campaigns and recalls, set pace and intensity, ensure cross functional engagement and accelerate outcomes to mitigate risks for business and external customers.
    • Work closely with teams to ensure an appropriate level of guidance is provided in procedures and work instructions to institutionalize Corrective and Preventive Actions.

    CI Leadership (20%)

    • Provide leadership through coaching and mentoring and classroom training to the business line quality engineers and other TDW employees on CI tools, RCA techniques, data analysis using CI and LSS improvement tools.
    • Collaborate with business line and establish TDW site wide visual management tools and techniques and support lean activities deployment across the business.
    • Empower and motivate others to use non-traditional and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace. 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited University or College.
    • 5+ years of experience, with ability to coach others, in RCA training or certification (any leading RCA techniques)
    • 2+ years of experience in LSS Black Belt or MBB training or certification
    • 7-10 years in CI/LSS leadership in manufacturing and/or services operations.
