  • Overview

    The Global Supplier Quality Leader will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Supplier QA and improving their overall performance. The leader will also partner with supply chain, product quality, operations and other functions to lead supplier improvement programs. This position will develop and manage a global team across various business lines and align to the QMS to ensure supplier deliverables are compliant and conform to requirements and meet TDW/customer expectations. 


    This position can be located either in Tulsa or Houston.


    Continuous Improvement and Long-Term Sustainability (35%)

    • Engages supply chain and development teams to lead and support qualifications of suppliers after approvals. Develops and manages the FPQ, PPAP and APQP requirements.
    • Conduct Supplier Audits, RCA, CAPA validation, monthly and quarterly reviews and ensure alignment to quality vision and TDW priorities.
    • Standardize all quality requirements globally where possible and implement QMS procedures and support TDW/customer and registrar Audits.
    • Responsible for ensuring suppliers continue to develop and implement best practice with emphasis on defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and continue to meet quality standards.
    • Establish critical supplier and parts database and implement a strategy for continuous supplier quality improvement through benchmark, KPI’s and surveillance audit program and partnership.

    Developing Supplier Quality Framework and Risk Management (45%)

    • Collaborate with functional leader and build KPI’s and BI dashboards to drive supplier program and establish clear communication mechanism to track and report.
    • Collaborates with the supply chain, quality, engineering to establish supplier portals for and communications of deliverables such as inspection reports, approvals, deviations, material test reports validations, guidelines and requirements for supplier quality and performance.
    • Drives supplier performance improvement to enhance key deliverables (OTD, Audit, defects, cost of failure, commercial performance). Owns the overall improvement initiative and engages vendors and management on progress and plans.
    • Leads and provides support in investigations and reports on supplier corrective actions and timeliness including NCR’s, SCARS and supplier related CAPA’s.
    • Develop risk based governance through scorecards for supplier deviations, changes, outsourced processes, qualifications and vendor recovery and productivity improvement.
    • Support new product launches through gate reviews to ensure suppliers are proactively onboarded to meet requirements.
    • Work with engineering, product and supply chain team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.

    Leadership (20%)

    • Provide leadership to SQE’s to manage issues, act with urgency through coaching and mentoring, supports supplier audits and standardizing processes.
    • Ensures that SQE’s maintain and improve their skills and competencies and certification required to address corrective actions swiftly as well as understand and maintain the technical aspects of compliance.
    • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any HSE policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of suppliers and TDW employees.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline from an accredited University or College.
    • 3-5 years in a leadership role.
    • 10-12 years of progressive experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality or Supplier Quality.
    • 2+ years of experience of administering Supplier Corrective Action Programs.
    • 5+ years of experience, and the ability to coach others, in auditing. Lead auditor training or certification preferred.
