  • Overview

    Provides advanced engineering analysis, modeling, and planning to effectively integrate various technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and software) to support product development efforts for TDW solutions.

    Responsibilities

    New Product / Service Development (60%)

    • Coordinates TDW and contractor activities to create integrated systems comprising mechanical components, electrical circuitry, hydraulic circuitry, and software.
    • Oversees the design of products in accordance with established engineering procedures e.g. technical reviews, customers requirements, and applicable codes.
    • Addresses technical problems as they arise, inventing solutions, and suggesting system design changes as required.
    • Directs the creation of 3D design and production drawings using existing CAD tools.
    • Improves technical knowledge by reviewing technical papers/literature and attending appropriate seminars and workshops with the intent of applying the latest technology to TDW products.
    • May be called upon to present work at industry seminars.
    • Ensures Manager and other members of the product team are apprised of progress on assigned projects.
    • Reviews work of self and others to ensure systems are designed with minimum complexity and maximum result.
    • Interfaces and coordinates development activities with other TDW Centers of Excellence to leverage the full-breadth of TDW product and service offerings.

    Operational excellence (40%)

    • Oversees the construction and assembly of products and engineered solutions,
    • Assists in resolution of non-conformities & customer claims, and takes necessary actions,
    • Participates actively in TDW quality assurance system by optimizing and creating procedures,
    • Assists in the development of technical manuals and related marketing collateral as required,
    • Performs feasibility studies to support customer and market-driven development opportunities,
    • Direct the creation and improvement of procedures related to manufacturing, assembly, testing, and service of TDW products and equipment.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in scientific or engineering discipline combined with min 10 years experience in related field. Masters degree preferred.
    • Experience with programming for scientific applications in C/C++, MATLAB, Python, etc.
    • Abilities to work in and lead teams / take initiatives independently,
    • Stress resilient and able to multitask,
    • Ability to work in an international environment,
    • Good communication skills (written and oral) in English
    • IT literate, experience with modern CAD systems
