  • Overview

    The Principal Integrity Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing work within the newly formed pipeline Integrity Engineering (IE) department. Providing analyses and subsequent assessments applied to a pipeline asset which combine so as to deliver greater safety by minimizing risk of failures, higher productivity, longer asset life, increased asset availability from improved reliability, lower integrity related operating costs and ensures compliance with governing regulations. Supporting the growth of TDW’s differentiated ILI technologies (MDS and EMAT), with high margin consultation fees with pull through of core TDW products and services and providing a deeper connection in the customer base moving toward a “Trusted Adviser” relationship.

    Responsibilities

    Commercial (10%)

    • Help meet or exceed IE targets by achieving the yearly business plan.

     

    Business Development (10%)

    • Identifies and develops IE opportunities to secure revenue generating projects;
    • Develops strong relationships with key TDW customers, participates in customers meetings and events to ensure IE is promoted across TDW;
    • Looks for new developments (internal and external to TDW) which can be incorporated into the IE service offerings to our customers; drives profitability and market share improvement for TDW;
    • Identifies integrated solutions using IE as a primary lever to deliver TDW pull through business;
    • Writes and presents white papers for journals, conferences and other industry events.

    Execution and Fulfilment (70%)

    • Executes IE work as determine by predetermined scope, customer requirements or internal TDW needs;
    • Providing technical support for IE projects including, but not limited to, integrity calculations, material selections, determination of required hydrostatic test pressures, MOP/MAOP calculations, evaluation of defects and recommended appropriate repairs, risk assessments and mitigation measures etc.;
    • Identifying additional preventive measures, determining the re-assessment interval and reassessment methods and making recommendations to customers;
    • Generates models, methods, processes and software for conducting IE work;
    • Participates in IE research and development work as required;
    • Writes reports and prepares and delivers presentations on IE work for customers;
    • Development and presentation of internal and external training;
    • Stays current with the pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessments methods, repair methods, etc.;
    • Monitor and keep abreast of industry trends and events for new technologies, equipment and training opportunities.   Prepares special reports that document and/or make recommendations regarding the results of special projects or new technologies;
    • Conducts analysis, adjusts or develops model and develops new solutions from TDW’s ILI tools;
    • Works with third party integrity consultants if work is subcontracted.

    Team Management (10%)

    • Selects, evaluates, motivates and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet IE business plan and company objectives, while complying with local employment guidelines;
    • Ensures technical proficiency appropriate to meet expected industry norms, standards and customers’ expectations;
    • Sets personal objectives, provides fair and constructive feedback, assesses accurately employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization, and ensures training & development needs are addressed;
    • Focuses on development of processes and system to allow the development of future Subject Matter Experts ( SME’s);
    • Develops a positive team dynamic to ensure high performance;
    • Leads the continuous improvement process in the team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related field or ‘significant’ industry relevant experience;
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity/ILI/services industry;
    • Level II/III data analyst in any inline inspection technology preferred;
    • Knowledge of pipeline codes and regulations;
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to present highly technical information to individuals at all levels within the organization,
    • Proficient MS Office skills plus software coding preferred.
