  • Overview

    Develop activities related to application engineering of offshore operations in accordance with approved policies and quality control procedures and in a manner that result in the achievement of assigned objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Operational excellence (15%)

     

    • Remains updated on new developments, policies and procedures relating to equipment, operational and maintenance techniques, also implements changes as necessary,
    • Plans and executes offshore operations utilizing the products potential, thorough knowledge of all aspects of products/projects in regard to applications, applicable codes, design standards and procedures, etc.,
    • Evaluates and prepares all necessary technical and operational aspects of TDW OS offshore operations,
    • Prepares and presents relevant technical and operational information for personnel executing offshore operations for the purpose of preparing personnel in mission and tasks,
    • Participates in execution and review of all operations performed for the purpose of further developing products, equipment and application engineering for operational excellence;

    Application engineering (60%)

     

    • Ensures that the application engineering process is continually reviewed and improved ensuring products and services of highest quality and customer’s satisfaction,
    • Uses and further develops the engineering competence and capability to plan and execute offshore operations utilizing all products for offshore market segment,
    • Performs engineering viability/feasibility studies for the purpose of clarifying potential operations, while educating clients in TDW OS’ level of competence in offshore operations and capability in delivering products and services and participates in project kick off and follow up meetings,
    • Gathers and organizes all relevant data necessary for the application engineering of each project, visiting clients at both onshore and offshore site,
    • Prepares all relevant (engineering) documentation for each project, including technical design premises, piggability, drawings/reports, relevant stress analysis/calculation reports, equipment test procedures/FAT procedures, operations procedures, GA drawings, assembly drawings and other necessary documentation according to project requirements,
    • Reviews and quality assures all project information by performing internal document control and approval of drawings, procedures, misc documents,
    • Issues and maintains the specifications needed by the purchasing and logistics department to supply the materials required for the manufacturing of orders,
    • Identifies and communicates the potential for increasing project margins by suggesting suitable VOR’s to fully meet customer current and future needs,
    • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions to answer internal customers and client requests,
    • Provides input to technical department/product responsible to create and/or maintain test procedures for technical products and equipment,
    • At senior level, prepares plans, assesses and executes the various engineering phases of a project including technical and operational aspects beyond TDW product line, and leads the operational and technical continuity and quality of the application engineering;

    Technical support (15%)

     

    • Reviews and advises Commercial Services by evaluating feasibility and propose solutions to client requirements,
    • At senior level, leads and provides engineering support:

    - Leads in developing cost estimates and schedules for projects,

    - Performs FEA calculations and analysis using various tools,

    - Supports Commercial Services in the establishment of quotations and in resolution of non conformities and customer claims,

    - Provides independent technical expertise on a broad range in client contact and sales activity as required,

    - Provides guidance and technical support regarding mechanical equipment in operational projects to relevant managers and personnel as required,

    - Provides technical expertise and support to Operations Supervisors and crew in field operations through the Operations Engineering Support Telephone;

     

    Product design and product management (10%)

     

     

    • Designs solutions in a timely manner and in accordance with the engineering procedures/project requirements,
    • Follows-up manufacturing/assembly and QC activities for products/special design that require extra attention,
    • Creates and/or maintains product documentation, calculation notes and test procedures for operational products and equipment as well as “CE” files, as appropriate for the launching tools, operational tool kits, etc.,
    • Reviews and proposes modifications to current operational tools and equipment, to solve project current or future specific needs.

    Qualifications

    • Engineering master degree in mechanics or electro-mechanics, or equivalent by engineering or operational experience with minimum 5 years experience in engineering work or product application work,
    • Senior level engineer role based on proven track record, experience, knowledge, high degree of independence and broad range of various competencies,
    • Works well in team and is able to take initiatives,
    • Ability to work in an international environment,
    • Good communication skills in English, both written and oral and IT literate.
