  • Overview

    The Senior Technical Testing Technician for TDW Hot Tapping and Plugging products and services is responsible for creating engineering documentation, conducting engineering tests, and supporting new products and services within a defined technology group.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the project team to facilitate validation of plugging head prototypes and associated equipment,
    • Takes direction from the Project Engineer,
    • Creates 3D Models and drawings to expedite prototype components and test fixtures,
    • Builds prototypes, acquires data, accumulates results for reports, writes sections of design standards and creates procedures,
    • Utilizes thorough knowledge of all aspects of assigned products/projects in regard to applications, applicable codes, design standards and procedures, manufacturing techniques, etc., in order to provide technical assistance,
    • Provides technical assistance to Customer Services, Manufacturing and/or subcontract sources by providing design solutions within the scope of the project/product requirements, such as cost, codes and specifications,
    • Performs value analysis studies on assigned products/projects with the intent of supplying cost effective products for manufacture,
    • Conducts testing, including developing and designing test methods and procedures, and substantiates the test results with proper documentation, ensuring that adequate testing is performed,
    • Provides Marketing with operating manual rough drafts and reviews the manuals to ensure all the vital information is accurate and properly stated,
    • Serves as a technical lead to the assigned design and/or drafting personnel,
    • Coordinates team efforts to ensure timely completion of the project while providing the necessary calculations, sketches and information

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical curriculum and at least 10 years of pipeline-related experience,
    • Experience creating 3D models and drawings; NX or SolidWorks preferred,
    • Experience with TDW products or in a manufacturing environment preferred,
    • Knowledge of engineering codes,
    • Ability to perform advanced engineering calculations,
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer-facing environment,
    • Good written and verbal communication skills,
    • Attention to detail and the ability to follow clear instruction is critical.
