Overview

We are seeking a strong technology leader who will be responsible for managing our Data Science and Pipeline Engineering group. This candidate will need to partner very closely with our Data Analysis, Engineering, and Commercialization departments, as well as multiple other business and technology units, and also ensure that our Data Science and Pipeline Engineering teams deliver high quality, robust, reliable, and scalable solutions. This leader must have a broad technical background, as well as shown success leading and managing technical groups. This candidate should be able to communicate well across multiple teams, interfacing with multiple systems, to be able to support some of TDW’s most important initiatives. Additionally, the successful candidate is a self-starter, thrives in a dynamic fast past environment, enables high performing Agile teams, and is deeply customer focused.

Responsibilities

  • Manage two to three Agile software development teams
  • Set vision and strategy for ensuring a high performing team with high quality solutions
  • Drive sprints from planning through to delivery
  • Motivate, encourage, mentor, and assist team members to achieve excellence in solution development and quality
  • Collaborate closely with our Data Analysis, Engineering, and Commercialization departments to create innovative industrial production-level software solutions.
  • Identify all impacts to business process and systems through impact analysis of new requirements
  • Communicate and align strategy with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, technical constraints and business drivers
  • Engage with customers, sales, product management, and operations and engineering as an all-around product resource to explain functionality, demonstrate benefits, and build relationships to grow the business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing technical engineering teams
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with managing projects, including the allocation of personnel and the tracking of financial expenditures
  • Knowledge of inline pipeline inspection technologies is preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred: computer science, data science, image and/or signal processing, computer vision, statistics, machine learning
  • Ability to exercise professional maturity that will instill confidence in major oil and pipeline operator clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiently in the use of MS Office products at the intermediate level
