Overview

Perform maintenance, repair, or modification work that requires making safe entry into a live, pressurized line of pipeline without shutting it down by operating Tapping and plugging Equipment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities 

 

    Achievement of Hot Tap & Plugging jobs:

 

  • Assists the customer in planning and coordinating use of tapping and plugging equipment for safest and most efficient completion of projects.

  • Assembles, operates and disassembles TDW HT&P Equipment during field operations, keps up-to-date on all equipment maintenance and operational procedures to ensure safe, proper maintenance and use safe, proper maintenance and use of Equipment and satisfactory completion of the job.

    

   Administrative and maintenance follow-up:

 

  • Draws up and undersigns all the documents required by customers ,
  • Upon completion of each HT&P job, prepares a report detailing equipment performance results.
  • Works in the workshop in equipment preparation/maintenance and stock management.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes and experience:

 

  • Mechanical trade certificate with experience gained in the oil & gas, or in the aviation or in the automotive industries
  • Field service experience
  • Operating high pressure equipment
  • Maintaining & repairing mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
  • Working in high risk environments
  • Working autonomously and within a team
  • Working in remote areas
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to work after hours including an on call roster as needed
  • Flexibility to travel 50% of the time for prolonged periods within Australia & overseas
  • Flexibility to work in sometimes arduous conditions
  • Ability to work safely, complying with the OH&S requirements of the company and oil & gas industry
  • Basic computer skills

  • MR Truck License
  • Forklift License
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Confined Space Entry
  • First Aid
  • PMBWELD 301B, 302B
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Manual Handling
  • Experience working on natural gas distribution or transmission assets
  • Experience working in industrial plants

To qualify for this role you will have a proven track record, demonstrate a great mechanical aptitude, good customer relations and service skills and have the desire to learn from a team of technicians in a unique part of the industry.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualified combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in a mechanical field,
  • Has acquired knowledge and skills required to obtain the certification level corresponding to Field Technician Hot tap entry- advanced/ Isolation entry – Advanced - Master, as stated in the Knowledge/Skills Inventory section of the Technician Training Manual,
  • Hot Tap entry level, able to mentor less experienced technicians,
  • Willing to travel extensively for prolonged periods,
  • Good communication skills in English,
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
