Overview

- Coordinate and schedule materials and resources as they contribute to the function of internal and external manufacturing, to ensure that customer deadlines are met. - Negotiate the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors to meet critical build schedules and act as liaison between internal departments and vendors to improve quality, address defects, reduce lead times, and drive down total cost of materials.

Responsibilities

• Plans and controls all scheduling activities supporting manufactured items

• Manages product lines to ensure alignment of raw materials and production capabilities, rescheduling existing demand to accommodate new demand and changes through the manufacturing process

• Assists ensuring that materials are received and kitted within the constraints dictated by the manufacturing schedule

• Ensures customer demand is met on schedule using MRP and Resource Leveling methodologies

• Collaborate with floor supervisors to ensure the most efficient use of manufacturing resources

• Prepares RFQ’s and evaluates vendor quotes to determine most desirable suppliers

• Issues Purchase Orders and ensures accurate and timely delivery

• Locates and recommends potential vendors

• Coordinates commodity purchasing strategies with Buyers

• Follows TDW bid requirements to ensure quality, availability and cost

• Acts as a resource to Engineering and Production and may represent procurement team on projects related to assigned commodities

• Tracks bid data and cost savings in real time and provides data to manager monthly

• Ensures Reverse Logistics, NCR, and CAPA procedures are followed to completion

• Tracks assigned commodities and notifies manager of potential shortages

• Maintains relationships with vendors to ensure highest quality, on-time delivery & lowest cost

• Becomes an expert within his/her assigned commodity group

• Communicates Demands to Manufacturing, including schedules, part availability, available resources, etc

• Communicates schedule updates to Production planner II daily

• Alerts lead Senior planner of any discrepancies, in meeting the current promised delivery date

• Maintains daily status spreadsheet as required

• Manages VMI contracts and provides recommendations relating to VMI parts

• Assists contract negotiation efforts and drives total cost reduction across assigned commodities

• Works directly with Planners to ensure OTD and inventory management

• Engages in continuous improvement activities as they relate to procurement processes

• Looks for opportunities to assist or champion improvement activities within the team

• Promotes positive team dynamics to ensure high performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree

• 5 years of experience in manufacturing or inventory scheduling

• Excellent verbal and written communication,

• Ability to understand Constraints, Critical Path Analysis and Risk Mitigation,

• Intermediate MRP systems skills preferred,

• Intermediate MS Excel skills.
