  • Overview

    Provide portfolio management of new and existing Inline Inspection technologies and service by leading and managing the development, execution, and sales strategy of new & legacy products and services, directing the growth of products and services from R&D to commercialization and subsequent product line management of identified portfolio through involvement with inside sales, field sales, business development personnel, project management, operations, engineering, and manufacturing/supply chain.  


    Portfolio Management (30%)

    • Manages assigned portfolio of new and existing product line solutions constantly looking for ways to establish market supremacy and sustainable competitive advantage for all pertinent market segments.
    • Manages product life cycle of technologies and services portfolio constantly looking for ways to maximize opportunities and minimize inefficiencies in competing products, obsolete part numbers, and excessive inventories.
    • Champions the customer’s involvement in the new product or services process so that the new product introduction time phases are mitigated to ensure prompt delivery.
    • Participates in trade shows as required, coordinating with the Marketing Communications Group to develop commercialization documents, sales tools, promotion and advertising media, trade shows, and miscellaneous communication tools required by the sales team to effectively sell products and services globally.
    • Develops and presents White Papers to conferences and associations in support and promotion of technologies and services.
    • Works with sales and business development to develop business cases to be presented to upper management which will assist in the evaluation and prioritization of new product or service opportunities and efficient Capital allocation.
    • Establishes and ensures consistent global execution of TDW’s market strategy. Communicates and leverages regional successes to maximize returns with the global market.

    Sales Support (20%)

    • Provides new product sales development training and support for the global TDW sales personnel and ensures technical proficiency appropriate to meet customer and market requirements.
    • Engages/travels with sales personnel to meet customers to align product requirements with market needs.
    • Shares accountability with sales, operations, business development and regions for achieving the sales and margin targets according to business plan for products and services.
    • Works with regional personnel to assist in the preparation of quotations for new products or services in initial stages of commercialization,

    Innovation and New Product Development (30%)

    • Continuously interfaces with the engineering and operations organizations to build and refine new technologies delivering unique customer value and sustainable business for TDW.
    • Works with the sales and business development in validating customer information to ensure that the new product development and operation organizations are developing new products and services in parallel with the customer’s needs.
    • Works with marketing and business development in the definition and sizing of regional and global markets.
    • Acts as liaison between research & development, engineering, TDW operations, and our customers
    • Continually validating, with project management and engineering, that our operational capabilities meet our customer expectations.

    Operational Excellence (20%)

    • Develops and implements sales plans, strategies and initiatives that are consistent with short- and long-term objectives of TDW. Responsible for the introduction of the new product or service to the operations group by ensuring that all required literature, support documentation, pricing guidelines and training are in place prior to product or service release.
    • Strengthens market’s and customer’s understanding of TDW products and services offerings,
    • Works with the sales, business development and marketing to develop and maintain competitor profiles and intelligence that provides key business information resulting in competitive advantages and market share position improvement.


    • Business and/or Engineering Bachelor’s degree required.
    • MBA, Master’s of Engineering degree, and/or knowledge of functional disciplines, i.e., marketing, contracts, liabilities/risks, and finance is preferred.
    • Knowledge of pipeline field operations and other field disciplines is preferred,
    • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a technical/engineering environment with 2-4 years of sales experience in the pipeline industry preferred.
    • Strong ability to develop high level relationships and rapport with customers and business partners, and represent TDW at the executive level on industry committees.
    • Strong business problem solving and creative sales development skills.
    • Strong ability to exercise sound judgment in making business decisions
    • Demonstrated ability to develop sales organization.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills. Should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint at the advanced level.
