Overview

Develop, implement, track and measure forward thinking supply chain strategies in accordance with TDW corporate policies, strategic goals and objectives in optimizing TDW’s overall “extreme customer satisfaction”.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain functional policies and procedures that guide and direct TDW Supply Chain activities globally.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of key supply chain strategies in support of TDW’s global sourcing team objectives.
  • Coordinate with TDW QA/QC-HSE in the development of cross departmental activities that ensure top quality supply chain materials and communications flow and the understanding of expectations.
  • Coordinate new supplier activities with TDW Legal to enact Confidentiality agreements, enable due diligence of the prospective supplier as well as any follow-up with manufacturing agreements etc.
  • Establishes and manages key supplier performance goals and objectives; communicates periodic results to plan and manage top-level continuous improvement; develops keen awareness of industry performance benchmarks.
  • Manage and negotiate supply agreements in support of overall supply chain goals and objectives.
  • Initiates/leads/participates in annual cost reduction and other value improvement projects.
  • Responsible for supplier selection on a commodity basis and work with the buyers to implement these sourcing decisions.
  • Take action to reduce costs that are focused on creating greater efficiencies, economies of scale or better quality resources for a given project team, or business plan.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of global shifts within economics, logistics and other world issues that may affect the TDW Supply Chain materials flow.
  • Communicate and share data on changing events to other TDW Global Supply Chain partners.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies and guidelines in coordination with management that deliver quantifiable and continuous cost savings for the Business Unit.
  • Nurture, develop and maintain a Global TDW Approved Supplier List {ASL} properly communicated for all procurement personnel to utilize.
  • Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Continually interact with our supplier base to ensure ongoing quality and “partnership” emphasis are maintained for quality, stability of price and supply as well as improved productivity and lead time.
  • Monitor and communicate all pertinent supplier and/or industry issues to stakeholders and immediate management and propose recommendations as they apply to existing strategies.
  • Leads lean manufacturing and supply chain effectiveness improvement processes across TDW’s global supply chain.
  • Analyzes and appraises (regularly and systematically) the effectiveness of the Supply Chain to ensure that established objectives are met, corporate policies observed, and prompt corrective action taken when necessary.
  • Displays a positive team dynamic to ensure high performance.
  • Ensures that HSE rules and procedures are followed by all employees in the Business Unit and that the facilities are in compliance with local and governmental safety regulations.
  • Ensures the development and achievement of quality objectives commensurate with TDW’s quality policy, which assures continued ISO certification.

Qualifications

 

  • Four-year college degree in management, business, education, operations, industrial or a related field and six (6) years related purchasing/supply chain experience or a minimum of eight (8) years related purchasing/supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPM or APICS certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong project management skills, Strong business orientation.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make strong management decisions.
  • Supply Chain Management or Supply Chain consulting experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule to include the ability to travel globally (Possibly 3-4 International trips / year).
