Under supervision of experienced engineers within the discipline, provide logistical, technological, and project execution support in order to ensure company and professional continuous improvement.


  • Develops plans, preliminary concepts, and full designs for assigned portions of projects
  • Presents design approach to management and engineering staff
  • Evaluates designs provided and develops and tests designs to ensure that they meet all requirements, providing thorough test documentation/reports
  • Develops piece part and assembly documentation required to fabricate components
  • Performs engineering evaluations (e.g., Tolerance analysis, hand calculations and/or Finite Element Modeling) to determine the acceptable function of various piece parts
  • Conducts and clearly documents component and product integrity and reliability tests to validate design concepts
  • Provides designs utilizing knowledge of product/projects, design standards & procedures, manufacturing techniques, etc.
  • Prepares all necessary documentation, including assembly drawings, to be used in the prototype build cycle prior to launching design release systems for the first time
  • Provides documentation necessary to assist design reviews and concept evaluations
  • Provides status updates and project completion estimates
  • Assists determining the most effective means to produce piece parts, tools, and assemblies


  • Current enrollment in a university, pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Familiarity with machining methods and other manufacturing techniques
  • Experience applying mechanical engineering principles, practices, and formal review procedures
  • Basic knowledge of Solid Works (or equivalent) CAD modeling, assembly manipulation, and FEM modeling
  • Basic knowledge and application of ANSI dimensioning and geometric tolerancing preferred
  • Experience with Bill of Materials, change control, and documenting design iterations & concepts preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate MS Office Excel, Outlook, and Word skills
