Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.


  1. Provides technical support to internal software users
  2. Applies knowledge of software engineering principles to design software applications
  3. Designs software applications based on written specifications and direction from customers and product managers
  4. Maintains and improves existing internal software applications related to departmental infrastructure
  5. Provides departmental server maintenance
  6. Provides build system maintenance and improvements
  7. Provides IT security support
  8. Provides database administration


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2-5 years relevant work experience
  2. Exhibits excellent problem solving abilities
  3. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  4. Experience with the Microsoft Visual Studio programming environment
  5. Experience with Python, and Java
  6. Experience with C++ preferred
  7. Experience with CMake
  8. Proficient in Windows and Linux
  9. Familiarity with Tomcat/Jersey Servers, Mongo DB, SSL, and REST APIs
  10. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3)
  11. Understanding of relational databases (i.e., SQL Server)
  12. Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus
  13. Knowledge of report creation development concepts (i.e., SSRS) is a plus
  14. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  15. Experience working in an Agile work environment is a plus
  16. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  17. Excellent interpersonal skills; relates well to others
