Principal Analysis Engineer

Provide sound engineering principles and knowledge in the performance of complex mechanical and multiphysics FEA / Simulation.


  • Conducts extensive CAE/Simulation/Analysis as requested by various constituencies throughout TDW,
  • Provides technical leadershiip to the CAE/Analysis team to develop new products and improve/advance existing technology,
  • Develops technical expertise within the team to create standardized methodologies, simulation tool application, effective communication, CAE core competencies,
  • Maintains and shares a thorough knowledge of CAE tool capabilities,
  • Frequently assists/interacts with other Engineering disciplines and departments and project managers, as assigned, to further tool and/or process development. Provides technical assistance to other engineering groups as needed,
  • Assists team with and/or leads projects, as needed. Reviews and approves project/technical requirements, technical analyses/reports and project changes,
  • Produces technical deliverables (e.g. FEA analysis, engineering calculations, test reports, analysis reports, etc.),
  • Works with Project Managers and executives to plan projects and assess technical feasibility,
  • Performs design verification tests,
  • Assists with prototype or test rig assemblies,
  • Recommends validation processes for new products,
  • Writes, improves, and standardizes engineering/analysis processes,
  • Leads technical presenations and progress reports to Project Managers and Management,
  • Maintains status and schedule updates and communicates them to the Project Manager,
  • Sets up and carries out component, subassembly, and assembly verification tests,
  • Supports new products through verification and validation phases,
  • Documents and validates improvement for Production Release,
  • Works closely with Engineering Supervisors, Managers and Project Managers,
  • Serves as a resource to junior engineers,
  • Has frequent contact with customers, suppliers, marketing, sales, Engineers in other departments, field support, scheduling, global field offices and manufacturing personnel,
  • May be called upon for engineering perspective by senior leadrship,
  • Supports the activities of engineers and technical staff in vaious departments to provide solutions to meet new, unique, and formerly unaddressed customer needs. 


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or similar discipline,
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience,
  • Extensive skills in FEA / 3D modeling, engineering analysis (non-linear, CFD, etc.), DFMEA, manufacturing processes, problem solving tools, and machine design principles,
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.),
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and machining methods,
  • Experience with a PLM system and engineering change processes,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with modeling & Analysis software (e.g., Ansys, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.),
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook skills,
